PennEast Pipeline Company recently presented Wilkes University its PennEast “Powering STEM” Grant.

As Wilkes’ Amanda Modrovsky explains in the video below, the University will use its PennEast “Powering STEM” Grant to bolster its Women Empowered by Science (WEBS) program.

With over 100 young women registered to be in attendance this July, WEBS is a weeklong science summer camp that gives students the opportunity to investigate many areas of science through hands-on laboratories and activities.

“PennEast is proud to support Wilkes University as they expand STEM learning opportunities for students in our community,” said Pam Witmer of PennEast Pipeline Company. “Not only are they providing students with a fun and educational summer program, but they are motivating and empowering young women with confidence to pursue careers in STEM fields.”

Introduced in February, the PennEast Powering STEM Grant Program has invested nearly $130,000 to more than a dozen schools and nonprofit organizations across New Jersey and Pennsylvania to enhance access to STEM educational opportunities.
