The grant will enable the Harvest Family Success Center to give students and families across Hunterdon County access to valuable STEM-related opportunities, such as a Robotics Club, Number Ninjas Math Club, STEM After School Enrichment Club, STEM Summer Camp, Career Day and job-shadowing opportunities.
“PennEast is thrilled to support Harvest Family Success Center in its efforts to expose more young people to STEM education,” said Pam Witmer of PennEast Pipeline Company. “When we invest in our young people, we are investing in our future workforce. Harvest Family Success Center’s STEM programming will encourage more young people to pursue a career in the STEM fields, making them more competitive in today’s global economy while boosting Hunterdon County’s economy.”
The Harvest Family Success Center’s mission is to strengthen and empower individuals and families through family-centered activities, educational workshops and resources. It works with many low-income families who do not have access to STEM-related activities. Harvest Family Success Center is looking to provide quality STEM education to help Hunterdon County’s young people prepare for a 21st century education and career.
“I would like to thank PennEast for investing in the families of Harvest Family Success Center and Hunterdon County,” said Penni Trionfo, Development, Resource & Volunteer Coordinator at the Harvest Family Success Center. “This PennEast Powering STEM Grant will enable us to provide valuable STEM information and resources that will open up incredible career opportunities for our children. It will also help us meet a critical need in our community for a 21st century workforce that is educated in these important fields.”
PennEast representatives also met with program directors and families from the Harvest Family Success Center and had an opportunity to discuss the Center’s plans to create more STEM-related programming for young people.
