(Nazareth, Pa.) – Today, PennEast Pipeline Company presented Bushkill Township Volunteer Fire Company with a PennEast Community Connector Grant of $5,000.
Representatives of PennEast met with fire company officials in Nazareth, Pa., to learn more about the Organization’s nearly 60 years of service and to discuss the new equipment that will be purchased thanks to PennEast’s contribution.
“Bushkill Township Volunteer Fire Company’s service to the Township’s 9,000 residents would not be possible without the support of companies like PennEast,” said Kevin Reph, 1st assistant fire chief. “PennEast’s grant will support our purchase of a compressed air foam pump for a 2.5-ton truck we recently acquired from the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources.”
Bushkill Township Volunteer Fire Company joins dozens of first response agencies supported by PennEast Pipeline Company through its Community Connector Grant Program.
“PennEast is pleased to support Bushkill Township Volunteer Fire Company,” said Pam Witmer of PennEast Pipeline Company. “Knowing the area served by Bushkill, and subsequently learning of its budget constraints, it was an easy decision to help the brave fire company volunteers with one of our grants.
“The foam technology that PennEast’s grant will provide is not only environmentally friendly, but it will conserve water when the company is operating in remote areas. PennEast shares the fire company’s environmental concerns. We are grateful for everything they do for Bushkill Township and for surrounding communities that call upon them for assistance.”
PennEast has contributed more than $400,000 through its Community Connector Grant Program to communities along the proposed PennEast Pipeline route.
